Why Your Perception of Reality Might be Skewed — and How to Fix It
Today’s topic comes from an Instagram Live I did a couple of days ago where I shared this notion of how perception is reality — especially when that perception tends to be negative and self-enforced.
Often, we believe our own view of things over almost anything else, when what we really need to be doing is broadening our view through others’. You need to measure how you’re doing, not just by your own perception, but through others’ views and knowledge. I hope you’ll join me this episode to explore this idea!
Topics Discussed:
[2:49] About today’s episode.
[3:55] Sharing a recent story of a “sleepless” night.
[6:15] Another interesting scenario that happened recently, similar to this restless night.
[7:33] The lesson in these two stories: perception is reality and it’s important to allow outside views in.
[9:51] Why are we holding on so dearly to the idea that we are right and others are wrong? What if we could get to a place where we could allow in the notion that almost every piece of knowledge and belief we hold has the potential of not being correct?
[11:41] My question and challenge to you: what can you do in your life to start broadening your view and allowing other points of perception into your life?
[13:20] Please screenshot this episode, tag me, and reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram and let me know how your perception has skewed some of the decisions you’ve made in your life and what could’ve been helped if you had allowed other people in.
